Frequently asked questions

What is annealed glass?
Annealed glass is standard float glass that has been slowly cooled to relieve internal stress. It can be cut to any size and is used in most everyday applications. When broken, it fractures into large sharp pieces. We cut annealed glass only; for safety-critical installs, check local code and a safety-glass specialist.

What is the difference between clear and low-iron glass?
Standard clear glass has a slight green tint visible on the edge due to iron content in the glass. Low-iron (also called ultra-clear or starphire) glass has less iron, giving it a nearly colorless appearance — better for applications where color accuracy matters, like high-end furniture or display cases. Contact us if you need low-iron glass.

Can I get clear glass in a custom shape?
Yes — circles, ovals, rectangles with rounded corners, hexagons, and custom shapes are all available. Use the quoter above to configure your shape and get an instant price.
